D-Day " Thaksin seems to have the upper hand!

D-Day in BKK...what happened through out the day????

I was anxiously following online news portal for the updates on the D-Day demonstration by the reds in royal plaza, downtown Bangkok! Bad weather does not deteriorate the demonstrator spirit numbered at around 30,000 by the nationals security agency! The national security agency lead by DPM suthep deployed about 6,500 men to maintain law & order!!The leaders from the reds mostly notably nattawut ,jatuporn & veera speaks from the main rally site stage and demands the abbisit to dissolve the house immediately & revert back to the 1997 constitution! It's was a day of waiting for both the police, anti riot police, soldiers etc etc against the reds!

Luckily no untoward accident happened and the reds cordoned to themselves within the royal plaza compound rally site...sitting..& listening to their leaders continuously attacking the Privy council & abbisit lead government! The climax of the day was when their beloved leader khun Thaksin made a live video at 8.35pm to address his supporters! He said he is making this call somewhere nearby Thailand and he will see them soon......to the cheers of the strong crowd numbered at 50,000 now!He said....the government is not doing any good to the Thai's....poor people is growing in number.....economy situation is no where improving....indeed worsen! He added.....I would love to lead Thailand again....for a better future for everyone! All the protesters dispersed peacefully about midnight after their leader Nattawut makes a final speech to thank the crowd for their support! It seems like Thaksin now has a slight advantage against his opponent khun abbisit......the naming of a new police chief is still unresolved! Senior senators has made call for him to dissolve the house for a fresh election! His ally newin is planning something quietly.......and seems now the rift among them is widening!

If i am correct....a new general election is looming around....possibly before year end! Abbisit is definitely struggling to hold on to power....its collation government is weakening as the days pass off! he might be a smart fella....but Thaksin is richer and smarter....far more experienced in handling the complicated politics of Thailand!! Just pray for the best for the Thai people.......may the land of smile... smile forever! Or at least as long as possible!

"D" day in Bangkok!!

SEPTEMBER 19 - D-DAY.........WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR THAILAND??

The D-Day is looming all over the city of Bangkok! The reds under their beloved leader khun Thaksin are mobilizing its army of reds to storm the city on the anniversary of September 19 coup where Thaksin was ousted as Thai premier! The reds targeted as many as hundreds of thousand of its die hard supporter mainly from the Issan region to storm the city on 19/9! Government spokesman claimed that the plan will not materialized at all as the support for the reds was dying!

Political experts warned the government not to underestimate the reds....as this was seen as the last effort from thaksin & reds to topple the government under the abbisit leadership! Well it is still to early to foresee what will happen on D-day itself! I hope that it would be a peaceful yet sounding protest but on the other hand nothing bad will happen! An intervention by the army will certainly trigger another round of coup! How would the police force intervene where Thaksin has a strong influence? There are just too many questions yet to be answered.....only when the day arrive, we shall have the answer!

Meanwhile I am waiting for the D-day anxiously.....no matter what the outcome...just pray and hope the best for the Thai people! The land of smile.....will it smile forever? I hope YES !!

Bangkok is a heaven for fish anglers! Dozens of fresh & salt water fishing park is available here and some even operating for 24hours.One of the most visited fishing lake is the Bungsamran Fishing Lake in Bangkapi,Bangkok.

"kim7 battling hard with a giant fish....possibly the biggest catch for the day!"

"the ever handsome & young kelvin lim battling with the numerous giant fish available!"

To die for

With a mission to hunt for the best place to unwind my evening, I found a chic restaurant with some great interior architecture and design located inside the famous Soi Thonglor or Sukhumvit 55. To Die For is a great restaurant if you are looking for the best food in the town! (Best restaurant in Thailand 2009 by Thai tatler) Some online survey also listed this place as 1 of the best 10 café throughout the world. After browsing their relatively simple but great menu……I found my love one! Fried Red Snapper mix fusion and Mediterranean style. The fish skin is crispy while the meat is tender and juicy. The small portion of homemade pasta was delicious!

As a starter I was served with some bread which looks so ordinary to me…..and I was wondering will it taste good? I am not here for the bread! Well like people said don’t ever judge a book by its cover…..I am obviously wrong! The bread was great so was the butter! I was also served with a cup of weird thingy which taste like heaven! The bread was crispy at the skin and the inner part is so soft! That’s what I called great bread!

For a coffee lover like me I can’t miss out on their small selection of coffee. I ordered a café latte which I think is moderate (too milky)…..but the taste was acceptable! To complete my journey in this lovely place I ordered a brownie with vanilla ice cream on top as my dessert! The brownie is “heaven”! By far the best brownie I’ve ever ate!

The service was top class, promptly and the waitress keeps refilling my cup of mineral water and advises me on my choice of food. The great part was there are huge selections of wine from all around the world! Cheapest bottle start from 990 bath before 10% service tax! I have fall in love with this place and I hope that I will be back soon! The final bill is 875 bath and I tipped them well though! For more info on this place you can log on to www.todieforbangkok.com!

Remarks:- I reached to die for by taking the BTS from Siam to Thonglor - walk all the way from soi 1 till I am tired and abit loss of direction, ask a “narak mak mak” (very cute in Thai) girl inside 7-11 and ride on a motorcycle taxi before I reached the H-1 building and located to die for. I am suffering now from leg pain but it is worth it! You would only regret if you don’t pay a visit!
